Will A-list star Matthew McConaughey head over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon?

Pop culture-centric "That Hashtag Show" exclusively reported that, according to their source, Marvel is seriously considering getting the Oscar-winning actor to portray the role of Norman Osborn in their planned "Spider-Man" reboot. Although this report from the show is the first one that has linked McConaughey to the film, "That Hashtag Show" can be credited for several reliable claims such as the new lineup for "Avengers" and the future of "Quicksilver." However, Marvel and Sony still have to confirm whether the information is accurate or not.

McConaughey has reportedly been offered a lot of roles from Marvel and DC in the past, and that the actor is open to the possibility of portraying the role of any comic book superhero if it suits his qualifications. In an interview with Variety, the he explained how he would choose a role that suits to him.

"It's very simple for me. I look at the script. Is the opportunity exciting? Is the money that comes with it exciting? Sure. Is it the possibility of going, 'Hey you can get on a train and it can be a franchise and you could do 3, 4, 5, and have a great time as some kind of superhero or anti-hero.'"

He also believes that the character should be something that he would want to return to in the future, and the story should have something that he can explore.

If McConaughey will indeed appear in the next "Spider-Man" reboot, the role of Norman Osborn would look good on him. He could expound on the character's mischievous plans of funding the evil villains who are bent on wreaking havoc in the city while conceptualizing dangerous inventions.

Aside from McConaughey, there are also rumors claiming that "Ender's Game" star Asa Butterfield is in talks with Marvel Studios to portray the role of Peter Parker in the "Spider-Man" reboot.
