Many fans still have a hangover from CD Projekt RED's "The Witcher 3," which features Geralt of Rivia. The powerful witcher is one of the most memorable video game characters in modern gaming history, that is why some people are demanding to see Geralt one more time. Interestingly, the latest rumors suggest that Geralt might actually make a comeback this year, but through Bandai Namco's upcoming fighting game "Soulcalibur 6."

As reported by WCCFTech, CD Projekt RED is unlikely to release a follow-up title to "The Witcher 3." The game developer has already mentioned that "The Witcher 4" or any other spinoff title is not in their plans, given that its full attention is now being given to "Cyberpunk 2077." With this, the only chance that the character will be seen in action once again in through a guest appearance in an upcoming video game, and the rumors are rife that Geralt could be included in the roster of "Soulcalibur 6."

CD Projekt RED Community Manager Marcin Momot was the first to bring up the possibility of Geralt appearing on video games not related to "The Witcher" series or any other titles from the studio. On Twitter, he teased that Geralt might be featured in one of the upcoming games in 2018.

"What if Geralt was going to step out of the @witchergame for the very first time to make an appearance in one of the upcoming games later this year?" Momot said. Even so, there are no game titles that could feature Geralt in their storyline, although the chances are bigger for the character to appear in a fighting video game. According to Forbes, "Soulcalibur 6" would be the most fitting game to include Geralt as a playable fighter.

Furthermore, there is a better chance for Bandai Namco to work with CD Projekt RED in using Geralt of Rivia in "Soulcalibur 6," given that the Japanese company served as publisher for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" in PAL territories such as Australia, New Zealand and Western Europe. Bandai Namco has yet to specify an exact release date for "Soulcalibur 6," although it was tipped to be out later this year.
