Sony Xperia Z6 Lite reportedly in the works

There is a truckload of reports regarding the variants of the Sony Xperia Z6, the next lineup of smartphones from the Japan-based company. The newest report suggests the existence of the Sony Xperia Z6 Lite, which, considering previous rumors, is the fifth version of the flagship.

This variant allegedly has a 5-inch display, which makes it relatively smaller than the regular Sony Xperia Z6, which will reportedly boast a 5.2-inch screen. It is expected to be fitted out with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor (formerly known as Snapdragon 618).

The Sony Xperia Z6 Lite will allegedly be priced at $385. Not much is known about the device though, but taking into account its rumored display size, it sits between the regular Sony Xperia Z6 and the 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact.

There are five versions of the device. The first and smallest one is dubbed the Sony Xperia Z6 Mini, which is said to come in a 4-inch display. A much newer leak, however, showed that this device will not materialize.

This makes the Sony Xperia Z6 Compact the smallest of the bunch. A 5.8-inch version is allegedly in the works as well and it is being dubbed the Sony Xperia Z6 Plus. But this is far from being the largest of the group.

Rumor has it that a much bigger version will be released. The Japanese tech firm is rumored to release a monstrous phablet for its new flagship family. Being dubbed the Sony Xperia Z6 Ultra, the smartphone is expected to boast a hefty 6.4-inch display.

The bigger editions of the two will allegedly house the new and more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The smaller pair will allegedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor (formerly known as Snapdragon 620).

As for the Sony Xperia Z6 Lite, it is expected to be released in May this year. It is unclear if the same timeframe applies with its siblings.
