Will the next Sony Xperia Z4 Compact look exactly like its predecessor? sonymobile.com

A benchmark report for an alleged new smartphone from Sony Mobile recently appeared online, which tech websites believe is the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact. The report shows that the upcoming device can compete with other high-end compact smartphones in the market today because of its impressive specs and features.

According to the benchmark listing from GFXBench website, the upcoming device with model number E5663 will have the same 4.6-inch screen as the previous Xperia Z3 Compact model, but it will be packed with bigger specs like an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor clocked at 1.9 GHz, PowerVR Rogue G6200 graphics processor, as well as 3 GB internal RAM although only about 2.6 GB of it can be used.

But compared to the Z3 Compact that only has a 720p resolution, the rumored Xperia Z4 Compact will have 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. If it turns out to be true, then it will be the first device with a screen smaller than five inches with 1080p resolution.

Other rumored specs of the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact include a 20-megapixel rear camera with 12-megapixel secondary front-facing shooter. Just like the other Xperia devices, the camera of the new smartphone from the Japanese mobile phone manufacturer will feature flash, autofocus, touch focus, face detection, as well as HDR photo capacity.

Rumors also claim that the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact device will have 16 GB internal memory capacity but it can be expanded through its built-in microSD slot. It will also have a built-in accelerometer, Bluetooth connection, Light Sensor, and Wi-Fi support. The device is also rumored to come out with the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop mobile operating system straight out of the box.

There are no details yet regarding the official release date of the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact smartphone, but based on its model number, it could be coming out in India in the coming days.
