Will the romance between Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) blossom in the upcoming third season of "Sleepy Hollow"?

Early last month, actor Tom Mison shared his thoughts about the possible premise of the show's season three in an interview with TVLine.

"If we do get a third season, it would definitely be a reboot. It certainly felt, after watching 'Awakening', particularly the last 20 minutes of it, it certainly felt like we've acknowledged the show that everyone loved, and we can still do it," Mison said.

If the reboot that Mison was talking about is the same as the one mentioned by Yahoo! regarding the show's plan to bring back the much loved comedic timing of the actor during its first season, it means that Sleepy Hollow will bring back the awkwardly funny scenes wherein Ichabod was bewildered with all the modern conveniences of the present time.

Aside from Mison's statement, Fox earlier released a statement via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about what viewers should look forward to in the series. It reads:

"The jaw-dropping conclusion of Season 2 left Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Lieutenant Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) with a decisive, albeit heartbreaking, victory over evil. In the name of good, Crane made the ultimate decision to kill his wife, Katrina Crane (Katia Winter). With evil seemingly at bay, the third season will explore how the partnership between Crane and Mills will evolve and what challenges these two witnesses will now face."

Does the press release confirm that Ichabod and Abbie will be exploring the possibility of having a romantic relationship with each other now that his wife is already dead?

The season three renewal of "Sleepy Hollow" means that Fox will feature 18-new episodes. But compared to the last two seasons where Mark Goffman worked as executive producer, Clifton Campbell will take over the show after the former decided to quit because of the dismal ratings of the second season.
