Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) return to the small screen tonight in the premiere episode of "Sleepy Hollow" season 3. They will have to deal with the changes that happened in the final episode of the sophomore season.
Mison sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the changes in the dynamics between Ichabod and Abbie after all the unfortunate events that happened in the season 2 finale. According to the actor, Ichabod and Abbie will spend a year apart without any communication, and the third season will begin with Ichabod's return.
The actor also revealed that during his time alone after the death of his family, Ichabod went to England and Scotland to rediscover his ancestry. During his trips, Ichabod discovered a very important item in the family tomb, which he and Abbie will use later on.
He also discussed that there is a possibility that Ichabod could still find love in "Sleepy Hollow" season 3 after Katrina's (Katia Winter) death when he meets Maya Kazan's character Zoe Corith. They will meet when Ichabod needs some help with signing papers for his American citizenship.
Meanwhile, in a sneak peak at the upcoming season 3 premiere posted on TVLine, Shannyn Sossamon's character Pandora is introduced.
"Pandora is the new big baddie for the season," Mison says in the video. "You can see what tricks she uses to trip up Ichabod and Abbie."
Aside from Sossamon, a lot of new characters are expected to join "Sleepy Hollow" season 3, including Abbie's new boss Daniel Reynolds, portrayed by Lance Gross, and Nikki Reed's character Betsy Ross, who will appear in flashbacks to the time when she was part of George Washington's (Louis Herthum) legendary ring of spies.
Meanwhile, FOX revealed the official synopsis for the premiere episode titled "I, Witness," which reads:
"With old enemies gone, Abbie and Crane will seemingly be moving on with their lives. However, the discovery of a mysterious tablet will show that there may be a new dark prophecy surrounding our Witnesses. The two will team together with the help of an old amulet, and continue their epic takedown of the forces of evil"
