The fifth main installment in the "Shin Megami Tensei" franchise, "Shin Megami Tensei V," is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime in the near future.

The reveal was made on Oct. 23 when developer Atlus uploaded a sneak peak of the game on their YouTube channel. The video features a slew of demons and destruction, hinting at the enemies that players will face in this latest game.

Not much else was show aside from the title reveal at the very end of the video. It was also towards the end that they announced the console the game would be playable on.

In an interview with Famitsu, as translated by Gematsu, Kazuyuki Yamai, director of "Shin Megami Tensei IV" and leader of the development team for "Shin Megami Tensei V," revealed that one of the goals they wanted to achieve in the upcoming game was to make it a re-examination of the era, something people could sympathize with.

They wanted to focus on issues such as anxiety about getting a job, fear of terrorists, growing old as well as everyday things people deal with today.

It was also revealed that this is the first time Atlus is using the Unreal Engine 4 to develop a game. Because of this brand-new engine, the game development has been going much more smoothly.

Yamai also talked about the Nintendo Switch's high-definition quality games, mentioning that the ability to play at home on a TV screen or on the go was one of the reasons Atlus chose the console.

Atlus will also be including demon fusion and will be attempting to take the best elements out of their previous games and mesh them together for this latest release.

No release date for "Shin Megami Tensei V" has been given as of yet.

"Shin Megami Tensei" was originally released in 1992.
