Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) and Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) will find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation in the penultimate episode of "Scream" season 2.

According to the synopsis for the upcoming episode, titled "Heavenly Creatures," the police will look into Emma and Audrey's possible involvement in the series of crimes around Lakewood.

"In the wake of another murder, Emma and Audrey find themselves prime suspects when evidence appears implicating them both in the killing spree," the synopsis reads.

But can the girls prove their innocence even if their growing feud continues? Since Emma confronted Audrey about her involvement with Piper in the previous episode, she could still not give her trust back to her former best friend.

Based on the trailer for the upcoming episode, Sheriff Miguel Acosta (Anthony Ruivivar) will be informed that Emma has an obsession with her sister Piper Shaw (Amelia Rose Blaire), whom she killed at the end of the first season after they found out that she was the one responsible for all the killings around town.

The trailer also reveals that Emma, Audrey, and Kieran (Amadeus Serafini) will discover that his cousin Eli (Sean Grandillo) was already in Lakewood when the first set of killings happened, when they saw the news report about Will's (Connor Weil) funeral.

Emma's mother Maggie (Tracy Middendorf) also told Sheriff Acosta that she tried to send a message to Brandon James to leave her daughter alone, and he seemed to reply by sending her a carved heart with Emma's name etched on it. Does it mean that Brandon is really alive and was the one who was doing all the killings to avenge Piper's death?

Other speculations claim that the new killer's real identity will be uncovered in the upcoming episode of "Scream" season 2, which will air on MTV on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
