After viewers learned that Hester (Lea Michele) was the one behind the mysterious murders within William University's Kappa Kappa Tau sorority, they are waiting for official word from FOX regarding the return of "Scream Queens" for season 2.

At the moment, the network has yet to make an announcement of the return of the black comedy horror anthology for its sophomore season. But previous reports said that series co-creator Ryan Murphy and some of the cast members were hinting at the possibility of coming up with a second season of "Scream Queens" in the future.

In an interview with ET Online last month, Lea Michele revealed that Murphy already talked about his future plans for the show with some of the current cast members of "Scream Queens." She said she believes that Murphy's plans are very exciting, and she is willing to reprise her role as Hester in case season 2 happens.

"Ryan shared that next year there would be a whole new killer and so to see her [Hester] really in the position of being the victim, I think would be really fun to play," the "Glee" alum said.

Murphy, meanwhile, revealed that around four to five characters from season 1 will stick around until the next installment of the series. However, the producer did not reveal who among the characters will remain.

Meanwhile, veteran actress Jamie Lee Curtis also talked about "Scream Queens" season 2 during the "Live From the Red Carpet" broadcast from E!

The actress, who was nominated for the Best Actress in a Comedy category at the 2016 Golden Globes for her role as Dean Cathy Munsch in the series, said that "Scream Queens" season 2 would be given the go signal if she won the award.

"A win would mean a second season for Scream Queens," Curtis said. "So I want to make it altruistic. I want it for the crew, the cast and all the hundreds of people who worked so hard to make this so funny and great. That's what would happen for me."

But since Curtis lost the award to "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" star Rachel Bloom, the fate of "Scream Queens" season 2 remains uncertain.
