Sarah Jakes: Phaedra Parks opens up to TD Jakes' daughter about Apollo Nida

Phaedra Parks finally let her thoughts about her dwindling marriage with Apollo Nida in the recent episode of the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta.' But instead of talking about it with her co-stars, Parks chose to open up to her close friend Sarah Jakes.

But who is Sarah Jakes, and why did Parks decide to share her present ordeal with her instead of her RHOA close pals NeNe Leakes or Kandi Burruss?

Jakes is the daughter of The Potter's House pastor Bishop TD Jakes. She was embroiled in a controversy of her own when she got pregnant at the age of 14, which is unexpected from the daughter of a pastor who openly advocates about abstinence. She is also divorced from her first husband.

Parks seemed to have a deeper connection with Jakes compared to the other housewives. "We have a God connection," Parks confessed. "I feel like I can be totally transparent because I know she doesn't have an ulterior motive."

Jakes probably is the best person for Parks to talk to about finding happiness again, since she also went through the same ordeal when she had her first marital trouble.

She was married at the age of 19 to NFL linebacker Robert Henson, but decided to divorce him after four years of being together.

When Parks asked her how she recognized that her marriage with Henson was crumbling, Jakes said that she had a hard time accepting that fact at first.

"I had my son at 14 and so I couldn't bare to have another church mess up, another church mistake, but the reality is I was suffering. I had everything that looked great on the outside, but at the end of the day I was crying myself to sleep and marriage isn't this place where you should feel like you need protection," Jakes told her.

Jakes is now happily married to Pastor Touré Roberts, the senior pastor of Hollywood's One Church International.

But would Parks ultimately decide to end her marriage with Nida, especially now that her husband is still facing jail time due to fraud?

'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' airs Sundays on Bravo.
