Three months after its limited release on AT&T, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is finally coming to Sprint and T-Mobile. Samsung announced the news via press release, confirming that the device will arrive to both carriers in Meteor Gray later this month.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active shares much in common with the standard S8, including the processor, cameras and 64 gigabytes (GB) of expandable storage. It is just the military-grade casing and flat quad HD super AMOLED display that makes it stand out from the flagship models. These two changes make the device less susceptible to damage, thanks to its rubber bumpers rather than Galaxy S8's hallmark curved glass coating on the front and back of the handset.

It is shatter-resistant and can take falls from up to 5 feet high. It is also dust- and water-resistant. In terms of internal specifications, its only difference from the 2017 flagship is that it touts a larger 4000 mAh battery. The Galaxy S8 only has a 3000 mAh battery.

T-Mobile will start selling the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active online on the 17th and in stores on the 22nd. According to BGR, the carrier will offer the device with full support for LTE Band 71, the new spectrum that it is using for its LTE network. The company website says it is "enabled with a signal so powerful that it can penetrate walls for 4X better in-building coverage." The device is the second phone to launch with full compatibility with T-Mobile's new network.

Patrons who are interested in buying the device can get the S8 Active for $100 down and $30 monthly payment over two years or $820 outright. A JUMP! On Demand 18-month lease is also available for $100 down and $29 per month. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is available on AT&T for $28.34 per month for 30 months or for $849.99 full retail.

As for Sprint, details about the handset's availability are still to be determined.
