Samsung Galaxy S9 problems, issues update news: Unresponsive touchscreen complaints emerge

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have only been around in the market for a few weeks, but there are now reports from users claiming that there is an issue with the flagship device's touchscreen panel. Specifically, a number of users have complained about the S9's dead screen areas, as the phone remains unresponsive from all touch-based inputs.

While it is not yet established to be a legitimate hardware issue, some Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus users were already alarmed of their device's unresponsive screen. According to Android Police, the Samsung community forums and Reddit have been recently bombarded with posts from Galaxy S9 users reporting this problem. Some users were able to make GIF images and capture videos of their handset's dead screen areas. For one, the user can be seen drawing lines in all portions of the screen, and the result clearly shows the blank spots or gaps, which could be the defective screen areas of the Galaxy S9.

The degree of the unresponsive Samsung Galaxy S9 touchscreen varies from one user to another. There are some who are complaining about their devices having unresponsive touchscreen sections at the top and botton of the screens, but some are pointing at the middle portion of the display panel.

The good thing is that Samsung has finally spoken amid the growing concern of Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus users on the unresponsive touchscreen. The South Korean tech giant could not give a clear detailing of this issue at this point, although the S9 owners were told to report the problem to them if they ever encounter it in the future. For now, the users can do some remedies to somehow fix the screen's unresponsiveness, like performing a factory reset. Unfortunately, this does not work for many people, but they could always bring the unit to the nearest Samsung service center for check-up, as the new Galaxy S9 device is covered by a 24-month warranty period.
