Samsung Galaxy S9 features leaked via Reddit post; first-ever stereo speakers found in a Galaxy phone

Features of Samsung's upcoming flagship phone, the Galaxy S9, have recently been confirmed, rumored, and speculated upon. However, a recent Reddit post may have revealed more of its features via a photo of its retail box uploaded on Imgur.

In a Reddit post by user minvhn, they shared a photo that detailed the specs of the upcoming Galaxy S9. The black casing lists all of the S9's features and hardware.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is listed to have a 5.8-inch "QuadHD" display, using an active matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) system for its screen. However, it may actually have a 5.6-inch display size because of its rounded corners.

The rear camera is exceptional, as it features 12-megapixel rating with an F1.5 - F2.4 aperture. The "Super Slo Mo" technology may refer to the 120 frames per second (fps) capture rate, which means that videos captured with the S9 will have 120 stills within a single second. This allows for quality "slow-motion" recording. What's more, it supports 4K resolution.

Meanwhile, the front-facing selfie camera is rated at 8 megapixels.

Another interesting part of the S9 is its stereo audio system, which is a first on Galaxy phones. It also boasts IP68 water and dust resistance.

The Galaxy S9 has an iris scanner, but is expected that its 3D mapping will not be as sophisticated as Apple's FaceID recognition. It also supports wireless charging.

The only part of the specs that could prove disappointing to most users is the relatively small random access memory (RAM) and storage space.

The S9 will have 4 GB or RAM and 64 GB of storage, which is meager compared to flagship phones of the past generation. It should be noted that Samsung confirmed 512 GB modules for their smartphones just last month.

The Galaxy S9 is Samsung's upcoming flagship phone, and it is expected to be available sometime this year.
