AT&T started the pre-order period for Galaxy Note Edge last Nov. 7 — the first U.S. network carrier to do so — in preparation for the Nov. 14 debut of Samsung's curvy smartphone in the country.

The Galaxy Note Edge is Samsung's second release in two months after the Galaxy Note 4 reached store shelves last month, and AT&T Senior Vice President of Mobile Devices Jeff Bradley described the device in an interview posted in CNN Money.

Bradley said that the company is glad to carry the latest product line from the South Korean tech and consumer brand, especially since Galaxy Note Edge's highly functional second curved screen could greatly benefit users who will choose to purchase the smartphone.

"The customizable edge display provides you easy access to your news, notifications and favorite apps, with the ability to continue your activities on your main screen," the AT&T exec added.

The limited edition smartphone comes in a 5.6-inch Quad+ HD Super AMOLED touchscreen that is wrapped around the device to create a second screen. It runs with a 2.7 GHz quad-core CPU with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage plus the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. It also has a powerful 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing secondary camera.

The network carrier will carry the Galaxy Note Edge for $399 with a two-year contract. For those who want to purchase it with no contracts, the Note Edge's price is set at $945.99. It could be paid in installments through AT&T's "Next 18" that is set at $22.92 per month, or "Next 12" which will cost buyers around $27.50 per month. The chic handset can be purchased in two color options, namely Charcoal Black and Frost White.

Meanwhile, other network carriers in the U.S. are also planning to sell the Galaxy Note Edge soon. T-Mobile will allegedly offer the device for zero down payment with $36.25 monthly fee for 24 months, while Sprint is also said to be offering the no down payment plan but will have a more pocket-friendly $35 monthly charges for 24 months.

Aside from the U.S., Germany will also sell this chic, limited edition smartphone soon.
