Samsung Unpacked event Samsung

Samsung is currently preparing for its next Unpacked event in New York, which means that the world might finally see the full reveal of their upcoming flagship smartphones. The event, scheduled on Aug. 13, is speculated to be where the next premium products from the South Korean technology and consumer manufacturing giant will be unveiled.

The countdown teaser for the event, which seems to feature three new devices with varying sizes, came out with the caption, "We were the first to make them BIG. Now we're making BIG even BETTER. Are you ready to Live BIG?"

Speculations claim that the alleged Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be included in the highlights of the 2015 Unpacked event. Rumors about the high-end smartphones have been going around for quite some time, and it is highly expected that these products will be mentioned in Samsung's upcoming event. But even before the said product launch, the specs and release information for both devices are already discussed online.

According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will come with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display with a 2K resolution with 534 ppi pixel density. It may also run with the Exynos 7420 chipset, just like the processor featured in the current Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Plus. It will be combined with 4 GB of RAM, Mali-T760 graphic processor, as well as a 16-megapixel primary shooter and a 5-megapixel secondary video calling/ selfie camera.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phablet will reportedly retain its 5.7-inch display that features 2560 x 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 515 ppi. It will also have 4 GB of fast LPDDR4 RAM, a powerful Mali-T760 graphics processor, as well as 32 GB of internal storage. Just like the S6 Edge+, the upcoming phablet will also have a 16-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.

While Samsung has yet to reveal when the devices will actually come out in stores, rumor has it that consumers can start purchasing the devices beginning Aug. 21.
