The CW's hit teen suspense drama series "Riverdale" is currently on a hiatus, with only episode reruns being aired for the past Wednesdays. Having said that, there is a promise that season 2 is coming back with a bang as the fans will see their favorite "Riverdale" characters performing in a musical. Per the latest episode 18 promo, Riverdale High School's upcoming "Carrie: The Musical" production will experience a few hiccups, although the worst one of these would be the return of a dangerous entity known as Black Hood.

According to Den of Geek, "Riverdale" season 2 episode 18, titled "A Night to Remember," will be focused on the teen troupe's efforts to give a stellar performance on the night of "Carrie: The Musical." Unfortunately, someone is not too happy with the developments in the musical production, and he is willing to get violent if the director chooses to ignore his demand.

"As Riverdale High begins rehearsals for its upcoming production of 'Carrie the Musical,' the arrival of an ominous letter forces director Kevin (Casey Cott) to make a difficult decision about the show,"  a portion of the episode 18 synopsis states. The trailer reveals that the letter was written by Black Hood himself. Apparently, he is pressuring Kevin into replacing Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) as the star of the musical, or else something bad is going to happen to her, Elite Daily reported.

Meanwhile, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) will take interest into the upcoming musical due to the letter sent by Black Hood. Jughead will be taking on the role of a junior private eye once again to solve the mystery behind the letter, and possibly to reveal the identity of the Riverdale High menace once and for all.

Tension is also brewing in the girl and boy groups of the musical, as Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) clash over the entry of Alice (Madchen Amick) in the production. Veronica does not like the fact that Alice is only participating in the musical because the latter wants to spend time with Betty. On the othe hand, Hiram (Mark Consuelos) plots another plan to pit Fred (Luke Perry) against Archie (KJ Apa).

"Riverdale" season 2 episode 18 will air next Wednesday, April 17 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
