New Retina iMacs 2014 release date rumored for October

 Apple

Apple Inc. had been quiet about the alleged Retina iMac for quite a while, but the tech giant from Cupertino, California is rumored to be ready to release the new-generation iMacs to the public this month, alongside the other product lines of the company.

According to the report posted by 9to5Mac, Apple is already in the final testing stages for the upcoming line of iMacs that is equipped with high-resolution Retina Displays. It could possibly be released during the same launching event for the new iPad line as well as the unveiling of OS X Yosemite this October.

It is speculated that the new model of iMac will be available in a 27-inch monitor with an impressive 5K display. GottaBeMobile also reported that the new desktop computer will be given a performance upgrade, and will run using the latest Intel Core i7-4790K processor with a clock speed of 4.0GHz.

The monitor of current 21.5-inch iMac available in the market packs a 1920x1080 pixel resolution display, while the reported 27-inch Retina iMac will come out with a 2560x1440 pixels resolution screen.

9to5Mac also stated:

"If the 2012 Retina MacBook Pro launch was any indication, it's likely that these Retina models will exist as higher-priced variants alongside the current non-Retina line, which was updated early this year. While all current signs indicate that a Retina iMac launch is fairly imminent, sources say that Apple tested a thicker Retina iMac in 2012 but ultimately tabled the launch due to a lack of panel supplies and pricing considerations. So perhaps there is a chance that type of delay could re-occur. Besides new Macs, Apple has new iPads with Touch ID sensors and A8 processors in the pipeline."

Aside from the alleged Retina iMacs, Apple is also believed to release the much awaited line of devices including the iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, the reported iPad Pro with bigger display, and the new software OS X Yosemite upgrade.
