Ever since Capcom confirmed that the remake of "Resident Evil 2" is in the works, the public has yet to hear any further major details regarding the project.

Nevertheless, new reports show that the Japanese game studio is still determined to finish the remake, although fans will have to be more patient in waiting a bit longer. To give "Resident Evil 2" fans something to focus their excitement on, the latest mod for "Dying Light" offers an idea on how the classic survival horror video game will get a modern redesign.

As reported by DSOGaming, a new mod from Techland's survival horror title "Dying Light" includes familiar content from the original "Resident Evil 2" game.

While the mod has nothing to do with the "Resident Evil" series or anything from Capcom's current work, the mod lets fans visualize how the "RE2" remake will look like using all the latest technologies and techniques in game designing.

The particular "Dying Light" mod that resembles the "Resident Evil 2" gameplay features a map called "Calamar." The map includes units and characters that are largely based on Capcom's creation. Interestingly, the "Calamar" map first appeared on the internet back in October, when people were speculating about the "Resident Evil 2" remake's possible contents.

Players can roam around the zombie-infested town in the "Dying Light" mod, although some may notice that not everything from the original "Resident Evil 2" title was brought into the mod. Still, this is a great experience for those who could not wait for Capcom's official remake.

Meanwhile, it has also been tipped that Capcom will introduce something new in the upcoming "Resident Evil 2" remake.

One of the possible changes in the game would be the new camera perspective. Instead of using the usual fixed camera viewpoint from the earlier "Resident Evil" titles, it is rumored that the remake will now adopt a more dynamic camera perspective.
