After The CW released its official fall 2016-2017 schedule, fans of "Reign" began to worry about the fate of the show.

The historical fantasy drama had been excluded in the fall line-up of the network. This ignited the rumors about the possible delay of the show's season 4 premiere until the summer of 2017 due to its dismal performance at the ratings game.

But avid viewers of the show need not worry, since the recent casting news for characters that will be introduced in season 4 has been announced.

Early this month, Deadline revealed that British actor Will Kemp has been tapped to portray the role of Lord Darnley for at least three episodes. According to history, Lord Darnley became Mary, Queen of Scots' (Adelaide Kane) second husband.

Based on the character description, Lord Darnley is "breezily confident, charming and warm, he was born with a blood claim of his own to the English throne and a wildly ambitious mother whose love hinges entirely on his ability to secure a crown."

Meanwhile, TVLine reported in May that the show is also looking for an actress to play the role of Leesa, the "plain jane" daughter of Catherine de'Medici (Megan Follows).

According to the report, Leesa is the "least favorite" child of the dethroned French regent.

"Underneath her dark sense of humor is a legitimate desire for her mother's affections," the character description said. Leesa's arrival in the French Court might give an effect on the never-ending power grabbing between the Scots and the British courts.

Aside from Leesa, the network is also looking for a new actor to portray the role of Catherine's third child Henry, who was previously portrayed by Jackson Hodge-Carter. This means that the show will feature an older version of Henry in the upcoming season.

The CW is expected to announce the fourth season premiere date of "Reign" in the coming days.
