'Project Cars 2' demo now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Slightly Mad Studios and Bandai Namco have officially announced a "Project Cars 2" demo for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, which includes some exciting contents.

The demo gives players access to three different vehicles: the Ferrari 288 GT3, the Formula Renault 3.5, and the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4. Each car promises to give a taster of the different motorsport discipline, sublime physics, and handling of the vehicles in the game's full version, which was just released two months ago.

Unfortunately, there is only one racetrack available for the free play – the Red Bull Ring racetrack in Austria. Slightly Mad Max Studios detailed it has two track variations, set in a stunning landscape, showcasing "the visual and handling impact of the peerless weather simulation that racers will discover in Project Cars 2."

"The three scenarios in the demo will test players with escalating challenges, allowing them to experience class-leading physics in various cars and varying conditions," the developer explained, "and give them a taste of what there is to be experienced in the full game."

The demo also previews some graphical enhancements that Slightly Mad Dog will be rolling out in an imminent update. Xbox One X and PlayStation Pro 4 players can experience all the aforementioned racing action at up to 4K HD resolution, while those on PC have the chance to play it in virtual reality (VR). The demo supports VR on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift just like the full game.

Published by Bandai Namco, "Project Cars 2" launched a couple months ago to strong critical reception. The full version of the game offers more than 180 cars, nine racing disciplines, and 140 "living" tracks with localized weather conditions and dynamic day-to-night transitions.

It comes in different limited and collector's editions, with an additional Ultra Edition that includes a 1/12 Resin McLaren 720S mode in MS-R Stealth Satin livery. "Project Cars 2" is available on consoles for £49.99/$59.99 and PC for £39.99.
