After five dark, nerve-racking seasons, the Liars will finally learn who "A" is in the final episode of "Pretty Little Liars" season 5.

Since the show began in 2010, avid viewers of the series have been guessing if the TV adaptation will take after the twist in the book, wherein Alison's (Sasha Pieterse) twin sister Courtney is the one causing all the trouble in Rosewood. But executive producer Marlene King already quashed that theory, saying that Alison's alleged twin is not "A."

Still, King will not let viewers drop the twin theory just yet. According to her recent interview with ET Online, an entirely different pair of twins will be the key to "A's" real identity.

"There is a reason why we keep dropping these not-so-subtle clues about the twins, so I would say wait for it. Wait for it. You're not going to see Courtney, but you may see double of someone," King shared.

Meanwhile, the actress who portrays the role of Alison DiLaurentis also teased fans on what they should expect in the episode titled "Welcome to the Dollhouse." Pieterse said that viewers will be more "sad" than "shocked" when they find out who "A" really is. In an interview with PEOPLE, she described how the "Big 'A' Reveal" will roll out in the upcoming episode.

"It's very twisted, and I don't think anyone will see it coming. It's not something that you would expect or even that the viewers would be like, 'Oh, that makes sense.' It's actually very dark, especially for this kind of TV show," the actress said.

Also, Pieterse mentioned that she is very excited about where the "PLL" writers will take their characters in the next season. She said that she only has a little idea about what is in store for her character and the rest of the Liars, but she is already looking forward to filming the upcoming scenes.

The finale episode of "Pretty Little Liars" season 5 airs Tuesday, March 24, on ABC Family.
