The latest preview for the upcoming fifth season of "Power" teases James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), Kanan Starks (Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson) and Tommy Egan's (Joseph Sikora) mission to kill Andre "Dre" Coleman (Rotimi Akinosho).

In the 37-second video taken from a season 5 episode, Ghost and Kanan are seen sitting in a parked car, talking. They reminisce about their childhood memories. Kanan acknowledges Ghost's ability to act like a parent to Tommy but reminds him at the same time that he is expected to care for Tommy because he chose to do so in the first place. It is a known fact after all that Ghost stays in the streets to take care of Tommy.

Later, Kanan asks Ghost if he trusts the Italians. Ghost replies that he does not. Apparently, Tommy has met up with the Italians, believing an alliance with them will be beneficial to the trio's mission of taking down Dre. Kanan and Ghost both doubt the team up will work. Before they could continue talking about the said alliance, Tommy shows up and the trio head off to their next destination.

Ever since the finale of season 4, fans are speculating about the possible plot for the upcoming season. The preview shows that season 5 will pick up where the previous season left off — Ghost, Kanan and Tommy teaming up to hunt down and kill Dre.

According to Deadline, "Power" is the second most-watched series in premium cable after "Game of Thrones." Starz, the cable network broadcasting "Power," revealed that the series is the most watched show in the network. Despite all the positive feedback about the show, fans feared for the possibility of a season 6 when the network was dropped by Optimum, its television provider. Nevertheless, fans' worries were placated when it was announced that the production for the fifth season started in September last year.

"Power" season 5 will air this summer. There is no official release date yet, but previous seasons of the series premiered in either June or July.
