The "Pokémon GO" phenomenon continues as endless challenges were sent by players against other players to get more chances of owning a Gym.

But claiming a Gym may be difficult for new "Pokémon GO" players, especially if they have no idea how to do it. However, tipsters claim that there are multiple tricks that they can use in order to successfully have the coveted Gyms.

First, players must know the best Pokémon's to track for attacking other players. According to Game N Guide, Dragonite and Snorlax both have the characteristics of being the best attackers in the game. Other useful Pokémons for Gym battles include Arcanine, Vaporeon, Exeggutor, as well as Lapras.

"Pokémon GO" players could also use their best defenders in Gym battles. One of the most ideal defenders for such challenges is Lapras, who reportedly have the best-defending moves including Ice Beam and Ice Shard to foil the offensive moves of other players.

US Gamer also offered tips on how to defend a Gym in "Pokémon GO" battles. According to the report, players could enter a Gym with similar color after picking a team as long as there are available slots since Gyms can only accommodate three members at a time. To check for the Gym's availability, players could simply tap the Gym of their choice, then swipe it to see its members. It the player saw an open circle located at the side of the crown in the upper left portion of the screen, it means that the Gym has an open slot for another Pokémon.

If the Gym is colored grey, it means that it is still unclaimed. However, it is almost impossible to find an unclaimed Gym nowadays because of its popularity.

For players who want to take over an occupied Gym, trainers need to have battle-ready Pokémon in order to help in the quest.
