It is still too early to expect Sony to announce the list of free games for the month of September for the subscribers of PlayStation Plus, but the video game console manufacturer revealed a new development in the roster of free games for the upcoming months.

Late last month, Sony revealed that they are now letting players choose which title will be included in the September roster of free games for PlayStation Plus. Dubbed as the "Vote to Play" feature, this is being offered by the game and entertainment company as their response to user feedback.

"The game with the most votes will automatically be included in our future free game lineup for PlayStation Plus. If your pick didn't make the lineup, don't worry. In the first promotion, PlayStation Plus members can get the runner ups at a discount. We love to listen to our fans – and we're super excited to launch this promotion," explained John Koller, Sony Computer Entertainment America Vice President of Platforms Marketing.

For September 2015, the game choices that players can choose from for the Vote to Play feature are:

Armello – the soon-to-be released role-playing digital fantasy board game from League of Geeks requires players to face monsters and other opponents while performing the mad king's demands to be able to take over the throne as the next King or Queen of Armello.

Zombie Vikings – The new co-op multiplayer game from Swedish developer Zoink Games will take players through the swamps of Molgaga to fight the enormous giant troll, get lost inside the intestines of the Midgaard Serpent, and learn the real origin of Söccer.

Grow Home – The adventure platform game for m Ubisoft Reflections that was first released for PC will now come to the PlayStation 4. Players will have to control the robot named BUD to look for the Star Plant to save his planet.

Whichever of these games gets the most number of votes will be featured in the free games roster of PlayStation Plus in September, but the runner ups will also be offered at discounted prices in the same month.

But while Sony revealed that they are planning to come up with other Vote to Play features in the future, it will not be a regular monthly theme.

The PlayStation Plus Vote to Play feature begins Thursday, Aug. 13, at 8:30 a.m. PT/ 11:30 a.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. BST. It will last until Monday, Aug. 24 at 8:30 a.m. PT/ 11:30 a.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. BST. Players can vote through the What's New, Notifications, or via the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store featured in their PlayStation 4.
