The first free game in the PlayStation Plus free games for July 2016 is "Kill Strain." The top-down, competitive twin-stick action shooter will actually debut for the subscription service.

On July 12, "Kill Strain" will be released for free to the PS Plus free games subscribers. The rest of the gamers will get the title a week later, July 19.

"Kill Strain" was first revealed at the PSX 2014. A closed beta testing for the game is ongoing but more gamers can take part with Sony San Diego taking in more participants from June 29 to July 2 via invites.

The official site of the first PS Plus July 2016 freebie says that "Kill Strain" is all about goals— "team goals and personal goals." Part of the description for the game reads:

"In order for a game to end, one of several outcomes must be reached. As a human, destroying either the opposing human OR the mutant base, will end the game. As a mutant, converting all human players OR destroying one of the human bases will terminate the game as well."

The rest of the PS Plus free games for July 2016 are expected to be revealed by June 28. There's no telling at the moment what next month has in store other than "Kill Strain."

However, PS Plus free games members anticipate another massive lineup following Sony's move to make "NBA 2K16" and "Gone Home" as freebies for this month.

Part of Push Square's predictions are for the PS Plus free games for July 2016 include "Furi," an action game that's all about skills and reflexes. It is slated for release on July 5.

The other game could be "Lost Sea," an explorative action adventure game that has players stranded in a mysterious island. This title will reportedly be out July 6.

At the moment, there's no confirmation for that and fans will simply have to wait for Sony's official announcement presumably this June 28.
