While there is no solid evidence that can prove that "The Vampire Diaries" Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev are dating, rumors claiming that the former co-stars are an item continue to persist. However, with reports claiming that Wesley and alleged now ex-girlfriend Phoebe Tonkin being spotted together again, it is now suspected that rumors about Wesley and Dobrev are nothing more than speculations.
"The Vampire Diaries" may have taken its final bow, but it continues to make noise, at least, two of its former stars, Wesley and Dobrev. Reportedly, the once on-screen pair has been playing sweet music together since Dobrev returned to the set of "The Vampire Diaries" for its series finale episode. According to rumors, the two displayed a certain level of sweetness during filming breaks at the set of the said TV series.
However, according to recent reports, Wesley was recently spotted at Madeo Restaurant in West Hollywood, California together with his rumored ex-girlfriend, Tonkin. In fact, Wesley is said to have even opened the car door for "The Originals" actress. Because of this, some suspect that rumors claiming that the two have called it quits are nothing but just rumors as the two may still be together. However, some also do not downplay the possibility that, while the romantic link between the two may be over, they may have stayed friends.
To recall, Wesley and Dobrev were paired initially in "The Vampire Diaries." However, Dobrev was eventually paired with Ian Somerhalder, who played the role of Damon Salvatorre, the older brother of Wesley's character, Stefan Salvatore. Eventually, Somerhalder and Dobrev became real-life sweethearts until they eventually broke up.
Somerhalder is now happily married to "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed.
