'Parenthood' season 6 spoilers: What to expect when new episodes return Jan. 6

There are only four episodes left in the hit NBC drama "Parenthood," which means that fans should expect full-on tearjerkers up ahead.

Spoilers for the remaining episodes claim that the Braverman family will have to depend on each other as Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) faces a health scare. Based on a recently released preview, the doctor tells the Braverman patriarch that his heart is not strong enough for another operation when he asks to be treated for another heart attack.

Entertainment Weekly also shared a few teasers about the upcoming episode. According to the spoiler, viewers will see what takes place after the events in the previous episode, shortly after Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) dialed 911. This indicates that Zeek's health might be at risk.  ET mentioned that the one who will be most affected is Hank (Ray Romano).

But despite Zeek's fatal condition, his youngest daughter Julia (Erika Christensen) might find a way to fix her marriage with Joel Graham (Sam Jaeger). The two were seen making out during the last episode, and Joel told her that he will never leave her again. This means that Julia's marriage will possibly have a happy ending after all.

Then there's Sarah Braverman's (Lauren Graham) family, which will reportedly add another member. Reports say that Sarah's daughter Amber Holt (Mae Whitman) will be giving birth in one of the upcoming episodes. Sarah, on the other hand, will get engaged to Hank before the series ends.

Series creator Jason Katims talked about the impending end of "Parenthood" in season 6, saying, "My goal for this final season from the first day I got in with the writers until the last day on the set will be to try to make this season great and give this show the ending it deserves."

"We are trying to give every character on the show, everybody on our cast a story an ending and we are trying to really give a sense of resolution without feeling like it is tied up too neatly," Katims added.

"Parenthood" season 6 returns on Jan. 6.
