'Overwatch' new hero news: Torbjörn's daughter Brigitte Lindholm released

Developer Blizzard launched "Overwatch" season 8. Twitter/PlayOverwatch

Despite being a few years old, "Overwatch" still only has a total of 26 heroes so players will definitely make it a big deal when a new a hero comes out. For the game's latest and 27th hero, it is going to be a relative of an already existing character, Torbjorn. His daughter, Brigitte Lindholm, is joining the fray.

Another teaser for the new character has recently just come out and it finally confirms who the new hero is. The teaser featured Torbjorn writing a letter to his pregnant wife while he is in the hospital during the accident at the "Operation White Dome." Lieutenant Reinardt Wilhelm saved his life and players all thought he would be the new hero.

With the second teaser, the letter actually reveals something else. "You may have heard that Reinhardt is responsible for saving my life. I've heard the story at least four different times myself, already, each time more unbelievable than the last," reads his letter. "Half in jest, I suggested that if it would shut him up, I would allow him to name our daughter, as he has been badgering me about it these past months. He, of course, took me at my word."

Interestingly, those who have been quite careful with the teasers may have already better guesses at who the game's new hero is. It is not surprising for many to think of Reinhardt as the upcoming hero. While he does not turn out to be so, he did play out a special role.

The thing about character reveals in "Overwatch" is that it definitely catches a lot of players off guard. These new characters would be usually hinted at previous trailers. Interestingly, Moira also appeared in the Masquerade Doomfist comic that was actually released a few months before then.

Given the two trailers, the father-daughter relationship, and the letter, players are pretty sure this time that it is definitely going to be Brigitte.
