With "Outlander" season 2 set in Paris, everything is, in the words of production designer Jon Gary Steele, "very ornate, very grand and more elegant."
Jamie and Claire are out of Scotland and are headed to France on a mission to stop the Jacobite rebellion from ever happening and rewrite history altogether.
Needless to say, one of the focal points in "Outlander" season 2 is the change of location. Having recreated one of the grandest cities in the 1740s is a feat the cast and crew are extremely proud of.
In a behind-the-scenes clip, Jamie's essayer, Sam Heughan, said that fans will see "a completely different world" in "Outlander" season 2. Catriona Balfe, who plays Claire, added that it is a "contrast" from the first season.
Steele said that there are about 100 people who recreated a new world and put together the sets and the costumes for "Outlander" season 2.
As for what to expect in the new season story-wise, Claire's pregnancy will also be a focus and it will be something that is bound to bring Jaime and Claire closer together.
In less than a couple of weeks, "Outlander" season 2 will finally premiere. According to TV Line, fans of the Diana Gabaldon books which the show is based on will be happy about the retelling.
"The jarring start of 'Dragonfly in Amber' — Book 2 in Diana Gabaldon's series — is well handled (though not, perhaps, in the way you'd think)," TV Line's Michael Ausiello said, adding that "Tobias Menzies gives an amazing performance."
The actor's character Frank Randall is said to put a strain on Jaime and Claire's relationship in "Outlander" season 2 and will ultimately jeopardize their mission to stop the Jacobite rebellion.
He will also be a major player when it comes to the plotlines involving Jamie and Claire's daughter Brianna, whom fans will get to meet in the new season as well.
"Outlander" season 2 premieres on Starz on April 9.
