'Outlander' season 2 episode 4 spoilers: A dinner party in order, Claire's life in danger in 'La Dame Blanche'

Jamie and Claire organize a dinner party in "Outlander" season 2 episode 4 Starz

What was supposed to be a sophisticated wine and dine takes a sinister turn in "Outlander" season 2, episode 4 "La Dame Blanche." In this episode, Jamie and Claire throw a dinner party in an effort to make Prince Charles look bad in front of the investors with regards to his war-waging plans.

Jamie knows that Charles is vulnerable right now, thanks to his broken heart affecting his psyche. "We'll use his broken heart to break his bank," Jamie tells Claire in the promo.

During the party, unfortunately, Claire will be poisoned, an adverse occurrence that serves as a solid proof that not everyone in Versaille is fond of the couple, especially Le Comte St Germain, who is suspected to be the orchestrator of Claire's latest misery.

Balfe has confirmed in the above mentioned interview that Germain will be Claire's foe in "Outlander" season 2. "We will find out later just how dark he is. Claire isn't fully aware yet how dangerous he is, but she's starting to," the actress explained to The Hollywood Reporter.

Claire's poisoning in the "Outlander" season 2 episode also proves that she and her small family are still far from safety even though the early circumstances in the country proved promising. "She starts to realize that there's a lot of danger in Paris and that she needs to maybe be more careful," said Catriona Balfe who plays Claire.

While on the subject of the expecting mother's issues, Claire will have aplenty in "Outlander" season 2, episode 4 and majority of which involve Jamie. According to Radio Times, Claire will learn that Jamie visits a prostitute, a secret given away by bite marks on his thighs.

As what have been established in the previous "Outlander" season 2 episodes, Jamie and Claire have been struggling to get intimate. But as if it can't get any worse than all that, the former learns from the latter that his rapist is still alive.

"Outlander" season 2, episode 14 "La Dame Blanche" airs April 30 at 9pm ET on Starz.
