Major changes are coming to the lives of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe), based on the latest trailer of "Outlander" season 2.

The new behind-the-scenes teaser centers on the couple's new adventures as they begin their new life in France.

Despite the picturesque houses, extravagant parties, colorful costumes, and posh lifestyle, the Frasers will go through different ordeals as they try to infiltrate the tight social circle of France's Prince Charles (Andrew Gower) to overturn the planned Jacobite rebellion.

The trailer also reveals that aside from their aim to prevent the destructive rebellion to save Scotland's future, the couple will also find themselves at odds with each other because of an ugly past that they just cannot run away from.

Those who have read Diana Gabaldon's "Dragonfly in Amber," which "Outlander" season 2 is based on, know that Jamie and Claire will get into a huge argument after learning that Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) survived the prison stampede back in Scotland.

The couple fought after Jamie revealed his plans to kill Black Jack. Though Claire understands why Jamie wants to make Black Jack pay for what he did to him in season 1, she begged him to forget about ending Black Jack's life because his death means her future husband Frank will never be born.

But Jamie retorted angrily, asking his wife "Must I bear everyone's weakness?" Then he gave her a strong ultimatum, "Him or me?"

During the Television Critics Association's press winter tour in Pasedena on Friday, Heughan revealed that his character is obviously still traumatized after Black Jack raped him last season. But he revealed that Jamie will choose to put his focus on his goals in the French court in "Outlander" season 2.

"Time is a great healer, and ultimately, [Jamie] puts his whole body and soul into this mission about changing history," Heughan said. "And there is a great revelation that cures him, or brings him out of himself. I can't tell you what that is, but it certainly brings back the old Jamie."

"Outlander" season 2 is scheduled to begin on Starz in April.

This April, nothing will be the same. See what awaits Jamie and Claire in Paris.
