Speculations about the plot of "Orange Is the New Black" season 5 continue to surface online while the people behind the show try to keep silent about it.

While series creator Jenji Kohan remains mum about her plans for the show's upcoming season, several cast members dropped hints at what fans should look forward to in their character for season 5.

In an interview during the Television Critics Association press tour to promote her new series on CBS titled "Doubt,' Laverne Cox revealed that her character Sophia Burset is expected to return to the show despite of her busy schedule.

"Oh god, that has been very tricky. We're trying to figure out when I get back to New York to shoot some more Orange. That's still a work in progress, but I'm so blessed that they really wanted to keep writing for Sophia over at Orange and that we have brilliant writers writing for Cameron here," the actress said in the interview that was reported by E! News.

Her photo with co-star Matt McGorry taken during their hiking trip in Los Angeles that the actor himself posted on Instagram also prompted reports that McGorry's beloved character John Bennett will also return to the show after missing out on the entire season 4. But the actor has yet to confirm if his character will resume his job at the Litchfield Penitentiary and reunite with Daya (Dascha Polanco) and their daughter Aleida.

Meanwhile, Lori Petty revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that it would be nice to see her mentally-disturbed character Lolly Whitehill in season 5.

"I do think we will. I can't say for sure, but I absolutely think we will," the actress said when asked about the possibility of seeing her character back in the show next season. "They are just now filming episode one [of season five] and you know how we ended season four. They have a lot to deal with right now! I'm just waiting on the phone call to get back on the plane. I'm sure it will come, but we have 13 episodes and they've got a lot to take care of, so we'll see."

Netflix has yet to reveal the official release date of "Orange Is the New Black" season 5.
