'Orange Is the New Black' season 3 spoilers: Alex feels 'broken' in new episodes

Will Alex discover Piper's involvement to get her back in Litchfield Penitentiary? Netflix

Netflix will release all 12 new episodes of "Orange Is The New Black" season 3 this week, which means more prison drama will be featured once the inmates of the Litchfield Penitentiary return. But although the entertainment streaming service provider already announced that the new season will come out on June 12, it has yet to reveal the exact time when all the new episodes can be downloaded.

For the upcoming season, Alex (Laura Prepon) will find herself back in prison after she managed to get an early release in season 2 by double-crossing her former girlfriend Piper (Taylor Schilling). Will she discover that it was Piper who brought her back behind bars?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Prepon shared that her character will be having a hard time accepting the fact that she will be spending time in jail again after her brief taste of freedom. She also said that Alex feels "broken," and will be very different this season, since she feels that she is a complete failure because of her return.

Although Prepon said that Alex has no idea that Piper was the one who encouraged Polly (Maria Dizzia) to squeal to her probation officer about Alex's gun possession, the actress still believes that her character knows deep inside that her ex-lover could be the reason for her recent arrest.

"I feel like she might know, but doesn't actually want to believe that Piper would go so far as to ruin her life and get her back in prison. I think that's even beyond what Alex can comprehend of something that Piper could do," Prepon stated.

Meanwhile, actress Yael Stone revealed in an interview with The Express UK what the entire season 3 of "OITNB" is about. According to the actress, who portrays the role of inmate Lorna Morello, the third season of Kenji Kohan's comedy-drama centers on the individual inspirations of each Litchfield prison inmate to get them going while they are at the lowest points of their lives.

Netflix will make season 3 of "Orange Is the New Black" available on Friday, June 12.
