Oppo R9 and R9 Plus release date, specs rumors: Prices of upcoming handsets leaked

More details about the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus have been revealed in a new leak. A promotional image for the handsets shows that the former has a starting price of $383. The 64GB model of the latter is worth $460 but doubling that storage will bump the price to $506.

The Oppo R9 and R9 Plus are expected to be launched on March 17 and the company seems to be preparing for the big day. The handsets have been two of the most leaked upcoming devices in the past months.

According to leaks and reports, the Oppo R9 will treat users to a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display. Under the hood, a MediaTek Helio X10 processor will run the show, with 4GB RAM to boot. As mentioned before, users can choose between 64GB version and a 128GB model.

On the imaging side, the Oppo R9 has a 13MP rear-facing camera. But the star of this department is the 4MP front-facing shooter, which is capable of snapping 16MP photos with the use of a high-end technology.

With regards to the Oppo R9 Plus, users can expect a 6-inch AMOLED display that's rumored to generate an impressive Quad HD resolution. It also has the same RAM and memory configuration as that of the Oppo R9.

Apart from its massive screen, Oppo R9 Plus is also big on the camera technology. The camera on the back will be a 16MP shooter paired with a 4MP selfie snapper presumably with the same technology used on its little brother. It looks like the Oppo R9 Plus is also sporting a huge 4,120 mAh battery.

Both the Oppo R9 and the R9 Plus will deck out the VOOC flash-charge feature, which means that users can juice up the smartphones quickly while enjoying longer hours of usage.

Users will see the Oppo R9 and the R9 Plus in the flesh on March 17.
