"Once Upon a Time" season 6 quickly becomes the hot topic after the explosive season 5 finale, which showed Regina's evil alter-ego take its own form.
Lana Parrilla's character has been playing hero for a while. But since the death of Sean Maguire's Robin aka the love of her life, her darkness has started to creep back in.
Regina no longer wants to be possessed by it so she attempts to destroy it, only to let it all out of her and materialize in a physical form. "Once Upon a Time" season 6 promises The Evil Queen to be the heroes' newest adversaries.
Since this foe is pure evil, it will be a lot more difficult to tame her. So appealing to goodness is no longer an option, making the Evil Queen as evil as ever.
Apart from the re-emergence of the Evil Queen, new characters have also debuted in the season 5 finale. Like the recently concluded season, "Once Upon a Time" season 6 will bring viewers to a whole new world.
As seen in the season 5 finale, the heroes have been pulled into a portal leading them to a new realm where they meet two interesting characters that will play a huge part in "Once Upon a Time" season 6.
These newcomers are the the physical form of the good and evil personality of the warden from the portal in the finale, who was revealed to be Mr. Hyde. The split personalities will be played by Hank Harris and Sam Witwer.
"Where they're from, who they are, and what they're doing does tee up an element of what we're doing for season 6," "Once Upon a Time" executive producer Adam Horowitz told Entertainment Weekly.
"It's more like opening a door, rather than introducing the whole of what season 6 will be. Hopefully we're giving you a little taste of what's to come," he added.
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 will also be noticeably different from the previous seasons and fans got a taste of this shift when Hook, Zelena and the Charmings popped up in the new realm.
Fans will get to explore this new place in "Once Upon a Time" season 6, expected to premiere this fall.
