'Once Upon a Time' season 5 spoilers, cast news: Show needs actress with Scottish accent to play Rumplestiltskin's mom

 ABC

Rumplestiltskin's mother Evanna will be introduced when "Once Upon a Time" returns for season 5, which means that the show is already looking for the ideal actress who will give life to the role.

TV Line exclusively reported that the ABC fantasy drama is currently on the lookout for an actress with a distinct Scottish accent to portray the role of Evanna. The report mentioned that she will appear in flashbacks, which means that the actress needs to be younger than the current Rumplestiltskin, portrayed by actor Robert Carlyle.

According to the article, "OUAT's" requirement for the Evanna role is a "stunningly beautiful" actress in her mid-20s to early 30s. She should be "plucky, strong and imbued with an unshakeable sense of self-confidence."

Little is known about Evanna since she was already out of touch with her son when he was left by his crooked father Malcolm (Stephen Lord) in the hands of the two spinner spinsters. But it was reported that unlike her son and Malcolm who both have evil souls, Evanna has noble intentions.

Meanwhile, actor Michael Socha will no longer be a regular cast member next season but will instead be a recurring guest character. Socha portrays the role of Will Scarlett, or the Knave of Hearts. He was featured in several minor scenes last season. But since he is already identified as a guest character, it means that the Knave of Hearts will have fewer scenes this season.

Another character adjustment will also be featured in season 5. This time, it will involve Jennifer Morrison's character Emma Swan. Emma is known as the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, portrayed by Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas. It was revealed last season that her parents sacrificed Maleficent's (Kristin Bauer van Straten) child to make sure that she will not become the Dark One. But after saving her parents and the rest of Storybrooke, the Dark Emma emerged. This means that she will be the new baddie in season 5.

"Once Upon a Time" season 5 returns on Sept. 27.
