Shiro Games, the developer and publisher of "Northgard," announced that the Vikings real-time strategy (RTS) colony simulation game left Early Access and launched properly on Mar. 7.
Adrien "Brioche" Briatta of Shiro Games announced the news via the Steam Community on Mar. 7. "Northgard's" Mac and Linux versions have also been released on Mar. 8. Moreover, Briatta announced that campaign mode for the game titled Rig's Saga is now fully available.
Shiro Games are encouraging players to repeat the first of the campaign mode's 11 chapters as they have added new updates including Achievements, Easy and Hard mode and dynamic in and out game cinematics. Briatta also said that players need to be aware of the following — completing the campaign in difficulty levels will unlock certain Steam achievements, completing additional objectives for each chapter will also unlock the Steam achievements and completing both of the two things mentioned before gives players the chance to unlock "something quite special" for their solo and multiplayer games.
Briatta also announced the Official Release Patchnote that includes new features and changes. Included in the new features for the solo and multiplayer modes is the Supply Penalty in which there will be a decrease in the attack power of military units as they move away from their allied territory. Some of the changes made in the game include instant death for units of a defeated player if they are situated in another player's tile, ability to travel to a healed unit by double-clicking the portrait and a modified artificial intelligence (AI) behavior.
According to its Steam page, "Northgard" is a survival game based on the Norse mythology. Players control a clan of Vikings who are competing for the power over a newly discovered mysterious continent to bring fame to their respective Clans and to write history.
"Northgard" is available on Steam for $29.99. It is currently on sale at 25% off until Mar. 15.
