Nokia 9 release date, specs rumors update: Case renders on Amazon reveal bezel-less display, dual-camera setup

The HualuBro Nokia 9 Case in Blue Amazon

HMD Global's unannounced Nokia 9 flagship phone has seemingly been leaked by a smartphone accessory retailer that recently started selling cases for the device on Amazon UK. The products come with a handful of 3D renders of the handset, revealing the smartphone's design to a large extent.

First spotted by Gizmo China, the renders pretty much confirm the previously rumored edge-to-edge display and dual-camera setup. The display sports relatively thin bezels at the top and bottom with the cameras aligned vertically at the back. On the right side of the rear lenses lies the LED flash, while below them is the fingerprint scanner. The power button and volume rocker, on the other hand, sit at the usual spot, on the right side of the handset.

The back panel appears to be made of glass and similar to the front panel, it wraps around the smartphone's edges just like in Samsung Galaxy S8. This means it will likely support wireless charging, too, although the renders do not confirm it. Regardless, the Nokia 9 presented in the renders matches that of the series of sketches leaked this past September.

Internal-wise, nothing is certain yet as well, but it is expected to come with a Snapdragon 835 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, and 64 and 128 GB storage options. The smartphone might also have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED panel with quad HD+ resolution.

While the leaked renders are by no means any confirmation, it is an indication that the release of Nokia 9 is near. It may not be this year, though, according to Value Walk.

The majority of smartphone makers have already launched their 2017 flagships to take advantage of the holiday shopping. As holiday shopping is already underway, chances are it will be released early next year instead, potentially at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

As for the price, it might cost around $699 in the United States.
