The rumor mill has been claiming that the Nintendo NX will come with a screen controller. There were even photos, which were eventually deemed fake. However, a NeoGAF source is saying that the console might boast the said controller after all.
This controller will simply be a "dummy vita," which will allow players to access the Nintendo NX from anywhere with the use of an "enhanced" Wii U gamepad streaming tech. This controller apparently connects to the console wherever users are as long as they have Wi-Fi or personal hotspots.
The same source also claims that the Nintendo NX will be equipped with a custom Polaris-like GPU with 14 nm fabrication that is "marginally" better than that on the PS4. Overall, the console will allegedly be as powerful as the PS4K, Sony's upgrade to the PS4.
The Nintendo NX console reportedly allows porting over a PS4 with no trouble and will still "have power to spare." As for the games coming to the Nintendo NX, the source said that "Luigi's Mansion 3" is being developed for the console as well as the "Final Fantasy 15."
As rumors and leaks about the Nintendo NX continue to flood, Nintendo is mum through it all. The company did promise to talk more about the device this year. It remains unclear as to when that will take place.
With regards to the release date of the Nintendo NX, Tony Bartel, a senior executive at popular games retailer GameStop, hinted that the new Nintendo console as well as the rumored PS4K will see the light of day sooner rather than later.
"Although we have not modelled extensive growth for new innovation in this presentation, we are very pleased to see the introduction of technology like virtual reality and rumoured new console launches, some of which seem imminent," Bartel said via Gamespot.
How close the gaming world is from that remains a mystery but the general consensus is that manufacturers in Taiwan are getting ready to build the Nintendo NX by the end of spring. Softpedia reports that a summer release could happen.
