Nexus 5 2015 release date, specs rumors: Handset to pack Android M?

The first version of Nexus 5 from LG Electronics Google website

The Nexus 6 came out in November 2014 and it has been almost a year since then. Now, the world is waiting for Google to release its next flagship smartphone.

Several speculations claim that the Android manufacturer will not be releasing a new smartphone this year, but will revamp the Nexus 5 instead. According to early reports, Google will come out with a new version of their best-selling device that first came out in October 2013 because of the dismal reviews received by the Nexus 6.

Meanwhile, a source allegedly told Geek Snack that Google will not dwell on design improvements of the Nexus 5 2015 edition and will include minimal specs improvement. However, the smartphone brand will make sure that the new version of the popular mobile phone will be enough to keep its low cost.

According to the alleged source, the upcoming Nexus 5 2015 update will come out with a 5-inch QHD display, and it will be offered for less than $500 upon release. This is reportedly Google's move to offer an affordable flagship smartphone with high-end features, just like what Chinese mobile phone manufacturers Huawei and OnePlus did with their Ascend Mate 7 and OnePlus One devices.

The source also mentioned that the Nexus 5 2015 will have a better camera than its original version. At 13 megapixels, it will be an improvement from the 8-megapixel camera that was featured in the 2013 edition.

Meanwhile, Expert Reviews UK posted several speculations about the second-gen Nexus 5. According to the site, the next Nexus product will either be manufactured by LG, just like the first Nexus 5, or by Huawei. But there are also reports claiming that both mobile phone manufacturers might work on different versions of the device.

Other speculated features of the Nexus 5 2015 includes a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4 GB RAM, a power-packed 4,000 mAh battery, USB Type C port, and a heart rate sensor. It will also run using Android 5.2 Lollipop or the upcoming Android M mobile operating system.

The Nexus 5 2015 is also rumored to come out in late October or early November this year.
