Since its teaser back in 2016 at the E3, Sony has not said much about when fans will get to play Kratos once again in a new "God of War" game. Recently, an unintentional leak regarding the game's release has been found, and fans are getting hyped up about it already.

The leak was found in the PlayStation (PS) Store when it listed the new "God of War" game. Along with the game description and the pre-order price at $59.99, the listing accidentally included the release date set on March 22, 2018. As of right now, the page is no longer viewable.

The ResetEra gaming forum users first noticed it, and it has gained massive attention since its reveal. Users noticed that the page for the new game appeared in the North American and Chilean PlayStation Stores. On the side of Sony, it seems that the post was supposed to be published only after they announce the game's official release date.

If there is an event where they would officially announce this, it would most likely be the upcoming PlayStation Experience happening on Friday. Speculations say that it is likely that following updates in preparation for the event, a regional store employee accidentally published the release date before the official announcement.

The new "God of War" game will feature a much older Kratos, and this time, he is not alone. Gamers will get to continue the adventure as Kratos and his son, Atreus, in a new world inspired by Norse mythology. The latest trailer from this year's E3 also shows that Kratos will be teaching Atreus how to hunt, which might not be easy for him as Atreus might be more like his soft-hearted yet unknown mother.

Elsewhere, some fans have been speculating on the meaning of the leaked release date. According to GamesRadar, the first "God of War" was released on the exact same day, March 22, 13 years ago in 2005.
