Zooey Deschanel may be missing in action in some of the new episodes of "New Girl" season 5 but the guys could have a grand time waiting for her return with the help of a hot new housemate.
Deschanel's character Jess Day will be out-of-town for a while as she fulfills her jury duty, but her room will not be empty because she decided to sublet it to a pharmaceutical representative named Reagan while she is away.
According to earlier reports, Reagan will be portrayed by actress and model Megan Fox.
While the male viewers will be delighted to see the gorgeous "Transformers" actress on the show, spoilers claim that Reagan will cause some tension in Apartment 4D because she and Cece (Hannah Simone) had a romantic past. This will make Cece's fiancé Schmidt (Max Greenfield) a little uncomfortable.
In an interview with Calgary Herald, Simone shared how Reagan's appearance in "New Girl" season 5 will affect the dynamics of the main characters of the show especially for Cece and Schmidt.
"It's really funny to watch Schmidt have a meltdown because Cece's ex is living in the loft," Simone explained. Schmidt is reportedly uncomfortable with Cece and Reagan's romantic past. "It's been a very fun, wild series so far and it's only getting weirder in Season 5."
The actress also teased that she and Fox will share a steamy scene in the shower. "I think within the first two days of shooting they had Megan and I taking a shower together," Simone revealed. "I was like 'Oh, we're really going to go there!"
However, the actress also said that despite Reagan's involvement in Cece's life, her marriage with Schmidt will still push through. "So I'm actually kind of excited that for this season they are together. That's wonderful," the actress teased.
Meanwhile, other reports said that Jess will return after Reagan leaves the loft. This will reportedly center on the unresolved feelings between her and Nick (Jake Johnson). Their other roommate Winston (Lamorne Morris) will finally have romantic arc with his business partner Aly (Nasim Pedrad).
The "New Girl" season 5 premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 5, on Fox.
