While actress Zooey Deschanel is on maternity leave, guest star Megan Fox will fill in her place for the meantime as the pharmaceutical rep Reagan who will lease Deschanel's character Jess's room while she is away.

In the previous episode, Nick (Jake Johnson) and Winston (Lamorne Morris) met Reagan at a hospital. When they found out that she needed a place to stay for a while, they invited her to lease Jess's room. While it took some time before she agreed to their proposal, Reagan finally gave in.

Nick was immediately smitten with Reagan, but Schmidt (Max Greenfield) was not pleased when he learned that she used to go out with his fiancee Cece (Hannah Simone).

In the next episode, titled "Wig," the synopsis teases that Nick's feelings for Reagan will begin to affect Schmidt and Cece's relationship. The newly engaged couple will try to come up with a plan to unveil Reagan's real personality, so Nick will easily get over her. Meanwhile, Winston will teach Reagan the art of breaking up.

The episode will air on Feb. 16.

Meanwhile, series creator Liz Meriwether revealed in a recent interview with Vulture that they are having a good time making the current season because of the fun stuff that will be revealed in the coming episodes.

"We've had some ups and downs with the show, and I've really been enjoying working on it, and where the stories are going, and I've been loving allowing the characters to grow up a little bit, letting the stories get a little bit deeper," Meriwether said.

She also revealed that something will happen that will change the course of the story.

"There's an exciting ending to the season, and, like I said, along the prank lines, there's a really funny prank in the middle of the season that really changes everything," the executive producer said.

Deschanel is expected to return in the middle of "New Girl" season 5.
