CBS has tapped "That '70s Show" star Wilmer Valderrama to become a series regular in "NCIS" season 14.

Executive producer Gary Glasberg released a statement announcing the cast addition, as published by Variety.

"Wilmer Valderrama will be able to flex his dramatic, physical and comedic talents in this classic 'NCIS' role," Glasberg said. "Fans are going to see him like they've never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We're thrilled he's coming aboard."

The actor will reportedly portray the role of a grounded NCIS field agent who suddenly became missing in action after accepting a deep cover mission a few years back. His colleagues were not even sure if he is still working for the agency or if he is still alive. But after resurfacing from his long absence, his colleagues are not sure if he should be trusted.

Aside from portraying the role as Fez on "That '70s Show," Valderrama is also known for appearing in the 12th season of "Grey's Anatomy." He also appeared in "From Dusk till Dawn: The Series" and "Minority Report" as well as several notable films like "The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best" and "The Girl Is in Trouble." He also lent his voice in the children's animated series "Handy Manny."

Glasberg hinted in an interview with Deadline that more characters should be expected to come to the show to fill in the void left by Michael Weatherly's fan-favorite character Tony DiNozzo.

"We're actually excited as writers to have some new perspectives, to have some new characters come in, to be able to switch it up and change things 14 seasons into a television show," the executive producer said. "It's fun for us. And to know that the foundation doesn't change but the opportunities continue to grow and are limitless, that's fun for us"

The network has yet to announce when "NCIS" returns.
