'NCIS' season 13 finale spoilers: Agent DiNozzo's exit won't involve death

How exactly will Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo's exit happen in "NCIS" seaosn 13 finale? CBS

While "NCIS" fans already know that Michael Weatherly will leave the most watched drama in the season 13 finale, there's virtually no information about how the departure of his character Agent Tony DiNozzo will actually pan out.

Fans fear that Weatherly's beloved character will be killed off in the "NCIS" season 13 finale titled "Family First." Thankfully, executive producer Gary Glasberg, although being coy, hinted that death might not be involved in the send-off.

In the recent episodes, DiNozzo has been given reasons to stop and take a good look at his life and where he is now. This will be brought into play in staging DiNozzo's exit.

"Tony is at a crossroads," Glasberg told to E! Online. "He really has to make some really significant decisions, big enough that would pull him away from his NCIS family," he added.

From what has been said in the past as well as the episodes leading up to the "NCIS" season 13 finale, media outlets surmise that DiNozzo will be going away and not dying.

"The only thing that I'll say is he's involved in the whole final episode. There are incredibly touching, emotional moments between Tony and the rest of our cast," Glasberg teased. In the end, he left the mystery up to fans.

As for the people showing up to bid goodbye Agent DiNizzo, there will be a lot of them, as Glasberg promised but fans can expect that Ziva won't be one of them.

Cote de Pablo, who played the character for eight long years in "NCIS," has revealed in a Q&A session at Babson College that she won't be in the "NCIS" season 13 finale.

While Ziva won't be physically present, DiNozzo's exit will be primarily motivated by his relationship with Ziva, according to Glasberg.

Weatherly officially bids the crime drama adieu in "NCIS" season 13 finale "Family First" on May 17.
