Vanessa Ferlito's character, FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio, seems to be ready to lend a hand to Supervisory Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) in the promo image for "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3.

TVLine exclusively showed a scene from the upcoming episode of the spin-off series, where Tammy is seen leading the entire team toward an unspecified location as she looks into the case involving Pride's men after it was revealed in the second season finale that Homeland Security Agent Russo (Ivan Sergei) was the man responsible for the threat in New Orleans.

CBS revealed the official synopsis from the upcoming season on its website, which reads:

"This upcoming season, after a sniper is at large during a crowded festival weekend, the NCIS team partners with several federal agencies on the case. The aftermath of the Russo case continues, as Brody decides to leave NCIS and FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio is sent to investigate Pride and his team."

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly revealed that "Hot in Cleveland" star Wendie Malick was tapped to appear in a guest starring role in season 3.

According to the report, Malick will portray the role of Sylvia Lund, the loving but overprotective mother of a peculiar forensic scientist named Sebastian Lund (Rob Kerkovich). According to the character description, Sylvia "unabashedly worries about his health, well-being and safety, and still sees him as the sheltered child he was growing up."

While the cast and crew are busy working on the set of "NCIS: New Orleans" for its third season, CBS News revealed that they all spent time giving back to the state of Louisiana when they organized a fund raising activity for the benefit of the flood victims during the historic flooding of the southeastern parts of the state, specifically in Baton Rouge last week. They are planning to collect items and send them to all the people who were affected by the said incident.

"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 is slated to premiere on Sept. 20.
