NBA trade rumors update: Clippers may open up trade possibilities for DeAndre Jordan

The Los Angeles Clippers used to be one of the most dominant teams in the Western Conference with the trio of Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Chris Paul. However, with Paul leaving and Griffin's talent waning, Clippers may need to look at trading their star center.

Paul's recent departure from the team became apparent in the way the team has been performing recently. Unfortunately, this could also be credited to how the guards tasked to replace Paul are both out for injury.

Griffin, on the other hand, has not been showing the same dominance fans have always seen from him. The Clippers may have been considered trading Griffin, but he recently just signed a max five-year contract.

With these, Jordan may be the only move they can consider giving up. Jordan has been with the Clippers ever since he started a career in the NBA. While his numbers are great for the team with 10.3 points and a whopping 13.7 rebounds per game, they may need to invest more in a floor general rather than keeping him, as they still have a strong center in Griffin. Besides, there are already multiple teams showing interest in Jordan.

There are rumors of Jordan moving to other teams already, and according to Mavs Moneyball, one of those teams might be the Dallas Mavericks, who would give Nerlens Noel and Dwight Powell in exchange. That said, these two aren't trained as guards, so this possibility might not see the light.

It can be recalled that the Clippers are in dire need of guards as Patrick Beverley, Miles Teodosic, and Danilo Gallinari are all expected to out for an extended period due to injury. Right now, with no viable point guard left playing for the team, it is all the more reason for them to get one as soon as possible.

Doc Rivers and Clippers management may even decide to change their team entirely. Fans may just have to wait what they will decide as the season goes on.
