LA Clippers trade rumors: team ready to give up Blake Griffin for Kevin Durant?

According to the latest surge of NBA trade rumors, the Los Angeles Clippers are prepared to trade Blake Griffin to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Kevin Durant.

The NBA superstar certainly sets fire to an incredibly cutthroat competition among teams come offseason, but the Clippers are resolved on nabbing the 27-year-old.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical, the Clippers won't waste the chance to have Durant in the franchise and will do whatever it takes, even letting go of one of its key players, just to get him.

"If the opportunity comes to move Blake Griffin and replace him with Durant, the Clippers won't hesitate, sources said," Wojnarowski wrote.

It is believed that a player like Griffin would convince the Thunder to release their top and most sought after player. However, it is looking more like Durant himself plans to stay where he is.

NBA trade rumors have it that Durant will stay with the Thunder and will likely be given the option to be on free agency next year.

However, Sportrageous believes that there's a likely scenario this NBA trade, should Clippers convince the Thunder or Durant, is that the small forward will be traded off for Griffin and the Thunder could just re-sign him next year.

Clippers will truly be a contender and a fearsome team with the lineup of DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul and Kevin Durant expected to dominate the court.

Meanwhile, apart from Durant, the Clippers are reportedly planning to pursue Harrison Barnes of the Golden State Warriors, whose record last season is enough to have various teams all over him.

Barnes could definitely be the scorer that the Clippers have been looking for. He should be able to help out Paul and Griffin, should he stay on the team, during play.

Whoever the Clippers will go after this NBA trade, it won't be long before fans will learn who the team is eyeing.
