Fans remain on the edge of their seats as they hang around for "Mr. Robot" season 2, which is still in production. The chief reason viewers are on tenterhooks for the new season is because its freshman season left big mysteries unsolved.

To begin with, Tyrell mysteriously vanished after he and Elliot were able to erase major debt from existence. Elliot realizes this after he woke up inside the car of an Evil Corp. executive. Many believe Tyrell is actually the man behind the mask that appeared in the Fsociety video.

While for a moment, it felt as though Elliot and Tyrell could actually function efficiently as a team, this is becoming more and more unlikely as Tyrell goes down his own psychologically destructive path and he is only going to get worse in "Mr. Robot" season 2.

So if he turns up at some point and decides to team up with Elliot again, things are going to get messy. Then again, it should be exciting to see how Tyrell re-emerges and what side he will eventually go to.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 will have viewers thinking of how society will look like without the consumer-debt industry. This is something showrunner Sam Esmail definitely wants to explore. "We're about to watch Rome burn. That's the world Elliot's going to enter next season," he told THR.

"Mr. Robot" is one of the most successful breakout series from USA Network. The show was recognized in the recent Golden Globes as the Best Drama TV Series. Cast member Christian Slater won the award for the Best Supporting Actor in a Series.

"We are really happy that people are seeing the same things that we see in a show that we love so much," USA Network President Chris McCumber told Variety before the show's big win during the award ceremony.

"The competition is so intense — there's so many great shows deserving of recognition and of people's time. It's very hard to break through," he added.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is expected to premiere by spring or summer this year.
