As if the sinister twists shown in the first season of "Mr. Robot" are not enough, series creator Sam Esmail is planning to add more unexpected surprises for the sophomore season of USA Network's widely acclaimed techno-drama thriller.
During the PaleyFest 2015 panel, Esmail and the rest of the cast revealed that the answers to the questions left at the end of season 1 will be revealed in season 2. However, fans of the show should also expect more questions in the upcoming season.
"There is a temptation to just keep lingering the questions, but I love actually answering them," Esmail claimed, "and having the answers have even more questions."
The press asked if Elliot and childhood friend Angela will finally hook up in "Mr. Robot" season 2 after the looming relationship halted last season. Esmail chose not to reveal too much detail, but Deadline shared his reply, saying, "I think it's more interesting what we did instead. Who knows, it (their relationship) may come back."
Since the hacking activities that were featured in the series can also happen in real life, actor Christian Slater revealed that he became a little scared of the possibility that the wide-scale hacking the members of fsociety did to E Corp could also happen in reality. "Being part of this show, it can't help but create a bit of paranoia about that stuff. It does make you think about what you might post," the actor shared during a recent interview with The National Post.
Despite the extremely dark theme of the series, Malek revealed that his character managed to positively inspire others.
According to the actor, an art teacher for children with special needs told him that one of her male students who was diagnosed with autism and schizophrenia told her that Elliot inspired him to be productive even if he is sick. Malek told the panel that he was deeply moved by the student's statement, saying, "We aim to be entertaining and if we reach you on that level, that's great, but to transcend that and reach people like your students, that's just the most profound thing we can hope for. So thank you."
Meanwhile, lead star Rami Malek was recently cast in a new movie after he became a household name for portraying the role of Elliot Alderson in the groundbreaking psycho drama.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Malek has been cast in Sarah Adina Smith's indie movie "Buster's Mal Heart" alongside "House of Cards" star Kate Lyn Sheil, "Halt and Catch Fire" star Toby Huss, and "The Man in High Castle" actor DJ Qualls.
Malek will portray the role of an unconventional mountain man who is running away from the authorities after stealing from empty vacation houses.
"Mr. Robot" season 2 is expected to come out in 2016.
